Mr. A. O. Bowen, age 81 of Sulligent, AL, Malloy Community, passed away Friday, January 07, 2011 at the Shades Crest Nursing Home in Jasper. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Wofford Cemetery. Bro. Armen McDill will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6-8:00 pm.
Mr. Bowen was born June 18, 1929 in Lamar County, AL to the late Robert and Della Edwards Bowen. He served in the US Army and is Veteran of WWII. He previously worked as a civilian at McClellan Field Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. as an Aircraft Technician. Mr. Bowen is the husband of Julie Bowen. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening.
