Mrs. Esther B. Sandell, 99, of North Aurora, passed away January 27, 2002 at Delnor Community Hospital. She was born July 3, 1902 to the late Emil and Margaret Frauenhoff.
    She was united in marriage on September 4, 1926 to the late Fred O. Sandell and both were long time residents of North Aurora. Esther was a member of the Union Congregational Church and had belonged to the Sarah Circle. She was a loyal supporter of the North Aurora Public Library since its beginning in 1937. She was elected to the first Library Board in 1963 and retired in 1977. She volunteered in various capacities in the P.T.A., Red Cross, Community Chest, Home Bureau, 4-H Club and was a very active member of her church.
    Esther is survived by her three daughters, June (Lee) Gamage of Petersburg, IL, Joy (Jeff) Rogerson of North Aurora, and Janet (Mel) Trapp of Grafton, WI; her five grandchildren, Mark (Mary Kay) Gamage of Peoria, IL, John Rogerson of Plano, Julie (James) Sippel of Oswego, Jeffery Hoevker of Grafton, WI, and Joel (Lisa) Hoevker of Port Washington, WI; her six great grandchildren, Becky, John and Michael Gamage, all of Peoria, IL, Katie Rogerson of Aurora, Jessica and Jimmy Sippel of Oswego.
    Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred O. Sandell on November 26, 1965; her two brothers, George and Edward; her sister, Emma Lough; and several nieces and nephews; and a grandson, David Gamage.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. January 30, 2002 at Union Congregational Church (405 W. State St., North Aurora) with Rev. Larry T. Wentzel officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora 60506. Interment will take place at West Batavia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Union Congregational Church or to the Donor's choice.
