Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, April 19, 1973, Thursday, p. 8-A:

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel for Lloyd A. Napier, 77, of 7780 South Lakeshore Drive, who died Tuesday at Willis-Knighton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A native of Logansport, he had lived in Shreveport 74 years.

Mr. Napier was a former Caddo Parish deputy sheriff and was a longtime owner of Lloyd's Boat Landing on Cross Lake.

He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 14, the Elks Club and the Louisiana Peace Officers Association.

Survivors are his widow, Rhoda Napier, and two foster children, John C. Faglie of San Diego, Calif., and Claudette Faglie of Washington, D.C.

Dr. D. L. Dykes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post No. 14.
