Erma Jean "Granny" Dunbar, 81, of Charleston passed away Thursday, January
6, 2011 at her home, with family by her side, after a long fight against
cancer.She was born March 21, 1929 in Charleston, WV to the late James Jesse and
Lyda Jane Legg Evans.

Her siblings, sisters, Chris McClure and June Adkins, and
brothers, Charlie Evans, Lester Evans and Ike Evans, also preceded her in
death.

Erma was a mother, confidant, sister and a great friend who always put
other's needs before her own.She is survived by her loving children, Jackie
"Mike" Dunbar and his wife Patty of Charleston, Carol Hicks and her husband
Jerry of Sissonville, Jane Anderson and her husband Bob of Charleston and
Fred Dunbar and his wife Drema of Charleston; sister, Mildred "Bob" Simmons;
nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandson.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Crisis Care Team.


Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at
Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV Burial will follow in
Bond Cemetery, Charleston, WV Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Saturday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to
Hospice Care of Charleston, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV
25312.Arrangements are in the care of Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave.,
Charleston, WV
