Funeral services were held for Raymond "Pete" T. Edward Wear, age 70, of Shelbina, on Sunday, January 3, 1993, at 1:30 p.m. at the Shelbina Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Compere officiated and burial was in the Shelbina Cemetery.
He died on Thursday evening, December 31, 1992, at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia.
Pete was born in Bethel, on May 10, 1922, the son of the late Isaac Sidney and Claudean Elizabeth Thoroughman Wear.
On September 7, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rowena Wiggins in Macon. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, Eddie of Liberty; a daughter, Carol Painter of Liberty; three grandchildren: Matt Wear of Shelbina, Amanda Wear of Liberty, and Colby Painter of Liberty; a brother, Sidney Wear of Shelbina; and two sisters: Essie Johns and Majel Kropf, both of Shelbina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He lived in Shelby County his entire life where he was a member of the Shelbina Baptist Church; Shelbina American Legion; Shelbina VFW; Disabled American Veterans; Shelbina Oddfellows; and Shelbina Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
