Nancy Kile

Nancy S. Spurlock Kile, 64, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at her residence.

She attended Cottonport Baptist Church, and worked 30-plus years as executive secretary for the AmVets (American Veterans) Department of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshal and Irene Meadows Spurlock.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Dale Kile of Chattanooga; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Sonnie Potts of Mt. Juliet; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 8:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Max Redman officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cottonport Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Teddy Layman, Doug Price, Eric Kile, Ronnie Allen, Tommy Copeland and Anthony Pharris.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or to the American Cancer Society.

Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
