A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at Mt. Jackson Cemetery by the Rev. William R. Bailance Jr.
Mr. Byrd was born Dec. 25, 1909 in Mt. Jackson, a son of the late Charles and Mary Williamson Bird. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Dove of Milwaukee, Wis., and Frances Louden of Rockville, Md.; and three brothers, Gardner Bird of Woodstock, Charles Bird of Colorado Springs, and Bernard Byrd of Falls Church.
