Mrs. Dorothy Waddell Fitzgerald, age 72, of Briarlea Drive, Ronda died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday 3:00 PM, February 7, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ronda with Rev. Dennis Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was born January 9, 1938 in Cecil County, MD to Alson Paul and Bertha Goodman Waddell. She retired from the accounting department at Lowe's Companies. She and her husband Sam operated the Salem KOA campground in the Wilbar community with the Rex Williams family. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wesley Fitzgerald; two brothers, James Robert Waddell and William Waddell.
She is survived by: two daughters, Kimberly Ann Campbell of Boonville, Lisa Kay Green of Ronda; one son, Jeffrey Paul Fitzgerald of Newnan, GA; two sisters, Nell Henderson of Elkton, MD, Louise Hoffman of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Jason Paul Fitzgerald, Sarah Renee Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald Campbell and William Richard Green.
