Funeral Mass for Joseph "Little Joe" Delfred Swain Jr., 84, of Belcourt, ND, was celebrated Thursday, October 20, 2005 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, with Father Bob Cronin S.O.L.T. officiating. Burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND. He passed away Sunday, October 16, 2005,in Trinity Medical Center, Minot, ND.
Casket bearers were Terry Pear, Travis Krom, Ronnie DeLong, Allen DeLong, Raymond Lenoir and Robert Balucki. Honorary bearers were Torrey Krom, Joseph Leon and all Joseph's family and friends.
Joseph "Little Joe" Delfred Swain Jr., was born on April l, 1921 to Joseph and Margaret (Allery) Swain in Belcourt, ND. He was a farmhand for John Eggle for 42 years. Joseph enjoyed farming, gardening, working on vehicles, visiting, and having his family and friends over for company. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Joseph is survived by daughters: Debra Swain of Belcourt and Virginia (Allen) DeCoteau of Bismarck; son: Joseph (Val) Swain of Lawrence, KS; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Hanson of Boulder, MT; many nieces and nephews and John Eggle's children.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ida Houle and Zelma Pflugardt; and grandson, Samuel Swain.
