Myrtle Jean Fuentes Laney of Mimbres, N.M., formerly of Eagar, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at her home.
Myrtle was born March 12, 1942, in Apache Creek to Raymond and Mary Fuentes. She was one of nine children. A loving wife, mother and sister from a large family, she also had a large family. She was loved by all. Those who loved her will miss her immensely, but she will remain forever in their hearts.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leo H. Laney; four sons, Milton, Kelly (Bridget), Leonard (Lou Ann), and Neal; three daughters, Traci, Jeanette (Dave) and Leah Ann; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, six sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Luna N.M., with Bishop Scott Hale officiating. Interment followed in the Luna Cemetery.
