She was one of 3 daughters of Charles Antoine Derveloy and his first wife, Clementine Negueloua.

Charles Antoine Derveloy was the elder son of Joseph and Esther Alcée Puchot Derveloy, who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana October 21, 1854. See New Orleans birth records Book 14:411. After Clementine N. Derveloy's death on December 8, 1892 in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, he married secondly to Ada Badeaux Derveloy who died December 7, 1927, survived by her husband, Charles Antoine. Death records in New Orleans show that Charles Antoine Derveloy died March 28, 1932 at 74 years of age.

After the death of Ada Badeaux, his second wife, he went to live with his daughter, Edna, and they were residing in Little Rock, Arkansas where Edna was a teacher at the time of her father's death. Edna had previously resided in Rapides Parish, Louisiana where she was a classroom teacher, and retired in Kankakee Co Illinois where she taught her final years.
