She was born December 26, 1910 in Dewy Rose, GA, the daughter of Olin Oran Hewell and Josephine Adams Hewell.
Mrs. Atkinson was a retired registered nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Frank William Atkinson, May 3, 2008. She is survived by sisters, Opal Herndon of Hartwell, GA and Doris King of Baldwin, GA.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Atkinson was cremated. Her ashes will be interred at the Dewy Rose Baptist church Cemetery, along with the ashes of her husband.
