Helen Green Allison, born January 27, 1922 in Gaffney, South Carolina passed away at her home Saturday, November 20, 2010, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Fannie Green, her husband, Thomas Allison, son, Ronnie Allison, and daughter Marie Allison Steele.

The Allison family moved to Oak Ridge in 1944 and became members of Robertsville Baptist Church shortly thereafter. She was employed in retail sales for many years; however, her last employment was with the Oak Ridge Schools', working in the lunchroom at Linden and Willow Brook Elementary Schools.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Howard Dunnebacke of Oak Ridge and Eleanor and Bill Clements of Douglasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Allison of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, John Dunnebacke of Austin, TX; Angie and Larry Weaver of Douglasville, GA; Chad Steele of Huntsville, AL; four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Victoria Weaver of Douglasville, GA; Stephen and Justin Steele of Huntsville, AL; Helen also leaves behind two brothers, Jim Green of Gaffney, SC and Jack Green of Rock Hill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to Moving Forward Fund, Robertsville Baptist Church, 251 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 23rd, 11 AM- 1 PM at Weatherford Mortuary with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Brian Scott officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. An online guest book may be signed at weatherfordmortuary.com
