JOSEPH JOHN VOLOSIN, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. He was born on May 18, 1929 to the late Charles and Mary (Fedor) Volosin in Weirton, West Virginia. He worked for Western Union and later Brookwood Golf Course. He was a member at Waynedale United Methodist Church and also attended St. Nicholes Eastern Orthodox Church. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and later became a member of the American Legion Post 241. He also enjoyed spending time playing golf at Brookwood Golf Course. Surviving family include his daughter, Karen (Mel) McClain of Roanoke; grandchildren, April (Garrett) Cook of Fort Wayne, Ashley (Matt) Hofferth of Noblesville, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Bella Rose, Nico and Briana Cook. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph John Jr. and Steven Joseph Volosin; three brothers; and one sister. Funeral service is 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2010, at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Mr. Volosin's name to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
