BROWN, Gwendolyn Vivian Willis, 75, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 1995. She fought a good and faithful fight. She was formerly of Washington D.C., where she was a member of the Evangel Temple Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Brown Jr.; and her son Lewis Allen Willis. Survivors include her loving brother, Francis Willis, Salem; two grandchildren, Crystal Carnell and Lewis Allen Willis Jr. both of California; eight great-grandchildren; two caring sisters-in-law, Camille Willis, Roanoke, and Mildred Ballard, Cincinnati, Ohio; devoted grand-niece, niece and nephew, Starr Carter, Salem, Inether Carter, Roanoke, and Jerome Willis, Md.; other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends throughout the Roanoke Valley and the Washington D.C. areas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Big Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Penn officiating. Interment w ill be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
