Curtis L. Briner, 68, of East Road 300S died at 1:10 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Briner was a retired construction worker and also retired from Arvin Industries where he was a tool crib attendant.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. James A. Seddon officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Committal service and military graveside rites will be conducted at noon Thursday at Uniontown Cemetery in Jackson County.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or Uniontown Cemetery.

Mr. Briner was born in Jackson County Sept. 25, 1931, the son of the late Wilson and Lula Baringer Briner. He married Lois J. Hughes June 6, 1952, at Uniontown. She survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Dennis R. Briner of Columbus; daughters, Vicki R. Maynard of Elizabethtown and Emily M. Nunemaker of Columbus; a sister, Marietta Combs of Three Rivers, Mich.; brothers, Berton J. and W. Ephraim Briner, both of Crothersville; grandchildren, Courtney Moore, Brandon and Haley Maynard, Ryan Briner and Payton Nunemaker, all of Columbus; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Briner.

Funeral for Curtis L. Briner, 68, of East Road 300S was conducted Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel, with the Rev. James A. Seddon officiating.

Burial was at Uniontown Cemetery. Military graveside rites were conducted by members of Crothersville Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pallbearers were Danny and Brandon Maynard, Kurt Nunemaker, Bill Floyd, Erin Hays and Chris Moore.

Mr. Briner died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
