EDRIS—Mrs. Catherine Edris died at the home of her son, D. J. Edris, two miles north of Kirksville, Friday, February 2, after a long illness, aged 72 years, nine months and 25 days. She was born in Lebanon county, Penn. Her maiden name was Anna Shirk. She was married to Jacob Edris November 26, 1857. To this union eight children were born, six of whom are still living. They are Mrs. S. C. Willis, Mrs. W. M. Willis, J. L. C. Edris, C. C. Edris, D. J. Edris, all of Adair county, and H. S. Edris, of Gertrude, Washington. A brother, Cyrus C. Shirk, of Myers Town, Penn., aged 86 years, also survives her. She had been a resident of Adair county since 1879. Funeral took place from the Presbyterian church Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. H. Johnson, of Callao. Remains were taken to La Plata for burial and interred in La Plata cemetery.
