The woman sustained a fractured skull, a broken hip, and bruises about the body and face. She was taken to the hospital by Prasser. Deputy Coroner C.K. Berray, who investigated, said there would probably be an inquest. Prasser told police the woman, said to have been coming from a dentist's office, stepped in front of his car and that he turned quickly but the fender of the car, owned by John Prasser, R. 3, struck her. According to the police report, Prasser was drviing west on Johnson street and Mrs. Abler was walking north at the intersection, Berray said. The accident resulted in the second traffic fatality in the city this month.
