ARANT, Myrtice Louise Mims, went to her heavenly home surrounded by family and loving caregivers December 31, 2010, at Wetumpka Health and Rehab where she had been a resident for nearly twelve years.

She formerly resided in Equality, Alabama with her husband for 45 years before moving to Wetumpka in 1986. She was the oldest living member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Equality. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother, but most of all a beautiful Christian who loved the Lord.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka. Dr. James Troglen, Rev. Winston Brooks and Rev. Ray Baker will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery in Wetumpka.

Myrtice Louise Mims Arant was born March 5, 1921, to Robert William and Minnie Marie Mims, both deceased, in Montgomery Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, John Randolph Arant. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine McDade and Evelyn Bennett and brothers, James Clarence Mims, R. Russell Mims, Clyde H. Mims and Donald V. Mims. She leaves behind, two daughters, Emily Arant Law (Errol) and Elizabeth Arant Treadaway (Frank), four grandchildren, Stephanie Law Zeringue (Ed), Tarvis Law (Liz), Heather Treadaway Pasewark (Scott), and Randolph Treadaway (Melissa). Also seven great- grandchildren: Lawren Elizabeth, Joshua Allen, and Ella Katherine Law, Ryan, Annie and Phillip Treadaway, Wesley and Preston Pasewark. Special thanks to the caring CNAs, nurses and staff at Wetumpka Health and Rehab who tended to her needs for nearly twelve years. Pallbearers will be Paul Wilson, Tommy Barkley, Bernard Arant, Jr., Richard Penton, Robert McDade and Danny Mims.
