Mrs. Alice Snook

Martha Alice Leland was born May 25, 1867 in Des Moines, Ia., and departed from this life July 22, 1933 at the age of 66 years, two months.

She came to Nebraska with her parents Thomas and Sarah Leland in June 1872 locating at Valparaiso and moved to Wymore in 1881.

She was united in marriage in 1883 with William Gillan Snook who preceded her in death six months and 5 days.

To this union were born 13 children, nine of whom are still living, four having died in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her death, three sons and six daughters as follows: Mrs. W.C. Shaw, Mrs. Jack Fields, and Mrs. Charles Barnts, of Wymore; Mrs. Wm. Wellensieck, Tecumseh; George Snook, Hubbell; Mrs. Harold Mouser, Lincoln, Warren Snook, Wymore; Casper and Mary at home; 31 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, George Leland of Wymore; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hollett of Wymore and Mrs. Julia Teleford of Denver, Colo., and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Snook had been a member of the Free Methodist church since girlhood. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church at Wymore, conducted by Rev. E. E. Powell. The body was laid to rest in the Wymore cemetery.
