Mrs. Robert S. Delzell passed away at her home in the north part of town Monday night, following a few days illness. Though not in the best of health of late, her death came as a great shock to her family and friends.

The funeral services were held at he Methodist Episcopal church, at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 5th, with sermon by her pastor, Reverend J. E. Newsom. Tho scripture read was from Rev. 2:1-7, and the text used vas Rev. 21:4. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.

P Baumgartner and son of Wapello; Mrs. Fred McClanahan and son Paul and John Delzell of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Delzell of Chicago, Illinois; W. A. Swan of Britt, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Bice, Mr. and Mrs. Dal Bice, and Omer Bice of Mediapolis; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Marshall of Columbus Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Collins and the Mrs. Jessie Collins family of Mt. Union.

Arminda Jane Collins was born in Piedmont, Harrison county, Ohio, June 7, 1856, and was aged 64 years, 6 months and 26 days at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Jane Collins. When she was thirteen years old her parents moved with their family, in the winter of 1869, from Ohio to Louisa county, Iowa, where they have since made their home.

She was married February 13, 1873, to Robert S. Delzell in Louisa county, and they made their new home on the farm near Morning Sun, until 1907 when they moved to Morning Sun, where they have since made their residence.

There were born to them nine children: Samuel H. Delzell of Morning Sun, Iowa; Mrs. Opha Jane Swan of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. Mary O. Baumgartner of Wapello, Iowa; Sallie F. Delzell, deceased; Mrs. Lillie M. McClanahan of Davenport, Iowa; Rosa Delzell, deceased; Thomas W. Delzell of Morning Sun, Iowa; John H. Delzell of Davenport, Iowa and Frank R. Delzell of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves twenty-eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Seven grandchildren preceded her in death. She leaves also her devoted husband, two sisters, Mrs. S. N. Bice of Mediapolis, Iowa and Mrs. J. M. Marshall of Columbus Junction, Iowa.

She was a true and affectionate wife, a kind and loving mother, and a true neighbor and friend, always faithfully and tenderly doing her part for all her loved ones and a warm hearted spirit toward all
In her last illness she told her loved ones that she was ready to go to the Heavenly home whenever she was called, but she would love to linger with them as long as possible.
