Mr. Robert Frank Marlow, age 66, of Mt. Carmel Church Road, Moravian Falls, died Thursday, September 5, 2002 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Marlow was born May 18, 1936 in Wilkes County to Freddie and Laura Estep Marlow. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as teacher of the Auditorium Class, member of the choir singing bass, and was well known for playing the harmonica for the church. He was a retired T/Sgt. from the U. S. Air Force having served in Germany, the Phillipines and Thailand. He was also retired from Golden Needles. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Margie Treadaway Marlow; one son, Raymond Marlow of North Wilkesboro; three daughters, Debbie Elliott of Hiddenite, Corina Marlow, Kathy Marlow, both of Moravian Falls; three brothers, Dwight Marlow of Taylorsville, James Marlow of Millers Creek, Lee Marlow of Greensboro; five sisters, Annie Link of Statesville, Carol Bunton of Hiddenite, Faye Bostain of Greensboro, Marion Parlier of Stony Point, Ruby Anderson of Wilkesboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2:00 Sunday, September 8 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Highway 16 North with the Reverend Phil Chapman and the Reverend Danny Elliott officiating. The burial with Military Rites by V F W Post 1142 was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Garden Christian Children's Home.
