The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on December 28, 1977:

"Mrs. Abendroth Services Slated For Thursday"

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Annie Abendroth, 66, of Brazoria, a former Thompson resident, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday from the First Baptist Church in Brazoria with the Rev. James Howard officiating, assisted by the Rev. Herman Coe. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton.

Mrs. Abendroth died Monday in the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Franki Abendroth Sr. of Brazoria, four sons, Kenneth D. Abendroth of Dickinson, Carroll Dean Abendroth and William Earl Abendroth, both of Rosenberg and Dr. Charlie F. Abendroth, Jr. of Houston, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McRoy of Longview; one brother Herbert Vanderhider of Liberty; eight grandchildren.

Her sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family suggests memorials be made in her name to the Heart Fund or to the building fund of First Baptist Church in Brazoria. * * *
