Joseph Albert Pickard. 35, former resident of the Pickard community, where he was born and reared and where he resided until several years ago, was killed in an automobile accident on Road 52, near Lafayette Monday. Pickard was in a car with Ralph B. Owen,which crashed into a truck, Owen was also killed in the crash.

Joseph Albert Pickard son of A. J. and Alice Pickard, born southwest of Kempton, Jan. 2, 1902. He was married to Miss Edra Amos, also of the Pickard community, and they resided there until removing to Indianapolis seven years ago.

Surviving with the widow and parents are three children, Evelyn, Ralph and Lois, and three brothers and a sister, Herman Pickard of Sheridan, Roy Pickard of Henderson, Tex., Ora Pickard and Mrs. Harry Marsh of Haynesville, La.

Funeral services are to be held at the Hills Baptist church, southwest of Kempton, Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 with Rev. L. R. Gray of the West street Christian church of Tipton officiating. Burial is to be in the Hills cemetery.
