Irene Louise Morefield, 84, a lifelong resident of the Colfax area, died at 4:45 a.m., August 24, 1990, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
Mrs. Morefield was born December 12, 1905, at Colfax, Illinois, a daughter of Charles and Kate Heins Sweet. She married Oscar Morefield December 13, 1923, in Bloomington, Illinois. He survives in Colfax.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert and Floyd, two daughters, Erma Holderly and Ellen Runge, one sister, Lila Helmers, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Morefield was a member of the Colfax Christian Church, the Church Hustlers Society and a charter member of Davis-Kerber American Legion Post 653 Auxiliary Unit, Colfax.
