Jennie's father, Elias, was the father of about 6 children from his first marriage to Rachel (1859 - ?) Their children included, William, Warren, John, Fanny, Lena, and Harriet,. Elias' 5 other children Elias W. Jr., Sam, Jennie , Paul and Juanita by his second wife, Harriett. ( Harriet had children before she married Elias. Their names were Sally, Charles and Lucy. )
Jennie married John BLAKEY on July 28, 1902 in Clay County Missouri. They moved to St. Joseph, Missouri where Jennie's had family. She was the mother of 12 children by John.
Their children were all born in St. Joseph. John and Jennie changed their surname to BLAKLEY between 1902 - 1909. The children's birth record has the surnames of Blakey or Blakley.
Jennie and my mother's mother Mary were friends. They lived to far from each other. Their kids knew each other. Two of Jennie's Blakley sons married into the Lankford family. Isaac married Anna and David married Lula.
Jennie's children by John, a stillborn daughter, Edna, John Jr., Isaac, Paul, Cecil, Juanita, Mary Jane, (Rev) Olbery Pierson, David W., Hazel, and Baby BLAKLEY. Only 7 lived to be adults.
Jennie's husband, John was said to have left his wife and moved north. John's sickness was so bad that he could not live in his area. Nor did he want to get his family sick. The air up north may have been better for him. John passed in Yankton, SD.
Jennie had to raise her 7 children. She became a widow at the age of 35. She later married to Chilton F. Lyles. Their children included, Dorothy, her twin, Davis, Faris Chilton, Geneva, and Edgar. Only 2 lived to be adults. (Jennie's first name was recorded as Geneva at one time.) The surname Lyle had be spelled Lyles at times.
Jennie was said to have had 19 children. There is an article stating that Jennie gave birth to her 18th child Edgar. The Lyle children were born between 1920 - 1925.
Jennie gave birth to a baby boy, Edgar Bartlett Lyle in 1925. He died April 16, 1926. It would be 8 months later Jennie passed due to an heart attach on December 27, 1926. Jennie was a hard worker. She left behind a husband and 9 children.
