0n 23 Feb 1746 Francis Brandon purchased land from the estate of William Byrd in Lunenburg County, Virginia. The tract consisted of 260 acres and was purchased for thirteen pounds current money of Virginia. It lay next to that of Thomas Brandon. The deed was recorded 4 May 1747.

His will was dated 30 September 1788, Halifax County. Witnesses were Thomas Wiley, William Brandon, Thomas Brandon. Executors were Elinor Richmond Brandon & John Lawson, with William Richmond refusing. The estate entered probate 26 Jan 178

His son Francis, b. 16 May 1756 in Halifax County & d. there 9 Aug 1842, married Sarah Lee Scott b. 16 Nov 1766 in Caswell Cty NC & d. 30 Jun 1818 in Halifax Cty VA. They m. 13 Feb 1786 in Caswell Cty, NC. Eleven of their children survived to adulthood.
