In loving memory of Edward L. Hurd, also known as "Hd" or "Ed" by many. He was born August 21,1920 and passed away December 19, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Hurd and Lynlee Conrad, two wives, a daughter, a son, a grandson, a grandson in law, and three son in laws. He leaves behind two daughters, Jeanette Roberts of Naples Fl, and Vera Hurd of Jacksonville Fl, seven grandkids, twelve great grandkids, and three great great grandkids. He was born in Switchback, Virginia and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Ed was a true lover of Bluegrass Music and traveling to visit his family. He retired from The United States Air Force in 1969 after serving 27 years as an Air Traffic Controller. He served in W.W. II, The Berlin Air Lift, The Korean War, and Vietnam. He then went to work and retired from Dade County School Board. He was a True Hero to his Family and Friends, and will be Missed By All. "NO SWEAT" Graveside Memorial services with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road with Edward Lee Hurd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home.
