George A Cyr, 91, died Tuesday, June 13, 1961 at his home at 210 N. Harrison. Born July 26, 1869 in St. George, IL. He was a retired school teacher, having taught in Iroquois and Kankakee Counties. He attended school in St. Anne and Valparaiso University. Married in 1894 in Clifton. He was a member of the Catholic Order of the Forresters & St. Rose Holy Name Society. Services were at 930am at St. Rose. Clancy Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Hattie filed for divorce against George in 1913. The judge said the grounds were not sufficient so the judge declined the divorce. They lived the rest of their lives as married but lived apart until their deaths 45+ years later.
