William Nelson "Cap" McPherson married Cynthia McMullen on September 25, 1860 in Carroll Co., GA. Their only child was born on October 16, 1861. A copy of their marriage certificate is shown in Photo 1. Cap enlisted in the CSA on October 13, 1861. He became ill in Brunswick, GA, which was caused by exposure, and returned home in March, 1862. Cap remained sick until his death in December, 1862. He was buried with full Masonic ceremonies as he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carrollton.
