Allen W. Serns, 936 Parkview Drive, Milton, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, at his home, after a lingering illness.
He was born Oct. 9, 1898, near Edgerton and came to Milton at the age of eight years. Mr. Serns farmed in this area until his retirement in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, the former Violet Shadel, a son Robert of Riverside, California, two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Orville Olson) Milton and Virginia (Mrs. Roy Olson) of Clarendan Hills, Illinois, five grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Violet Simmons of Elmhurst, Ill.
Funeral services were held at the Albrecht Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Lloyd Ellison, chaplain of the Hinsdale, Ill. Hospital officiating. Pall bearers consisted of grandsons and cousins.
