Callie Waters Whitener Wright, 89, of 226 Eastwood Village Drive, Bostic died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was born November 29, 1920. A daughter of the late Claude and Vassie Cook Waters, she was retired from Western Electric in Baltimore, Maryland; a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was the assistant organist; a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class and the WMU.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Armond Laudy Whitener and her second husband, June Wright.

She is survived by two sons, Dan Whitener and wife, Carol of Baltimore; Gary Whitener and wife, Dena of Daytona Beach, Florida; one daughter, Anita Costner and husband, Dale of Lawndale, NC; two brothers, Claude Waters, Jr. And wife, Janie of Charlotte, NC; Bill Waters and wife, Virginia of Chattanooga, Tennessee, two sisters, Joyce McFarland of Ellenboro, NC; and Gay Bostic and husband, Bert of Laurinburg, NC; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend David Easler and Dr. Wayne Blackwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
