Betty Jane Bailey Abney, 68, wife of Arthur Abney died Monday at her home. She was born May 19, 1942, in Estill County, a daughter of Crystal Johnson Bailey and the late Willie C. Bailey. She was a member of Hatcher's Creek Church of God, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of fourty-eight years Arthur Abney; two daughters Sandra (Bobby) Lee and Jenny (Blaine) Ervin; a son, Anthony (Missy) Abney; seven sisters, Ova, Ailene, Frances, Mae, Janet, Debbie, and Donna; three brothers, Ralph, Danny and James; grandchildren, Aaron, Bobby, Brandon, Austin, Mikayla, and Josh; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Blaine Ervin officiating. Burial was at the Cobb Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Aaron Abney, Bobby Lee II, Brandon Lee, Bobby Lee, Blaine Ervin, Harold Bailey, Austin Abney, Mikayla Ervin and Josh Ervin. Honorary bearers were her brothers and brother-in-laws.
