Visitation for Marguerite Cooper,
52, of Kankakee, will be from 4 to 9
p.m. Wednesday, at the Kankakee
chapel of the Schreffler Funeral
Homes. There will be a wake service
at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of
Lima Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the
family.
Mrs. Cooper died Saturday (Oct.
24, 1992) at Grant Hospital in Chi-
cago after a short illness.
She was born March 30, 1940, in
rural Chebanse, the daughter of
Francis and Edythe Dominique Gi-
rard.
Surviving are her husband, John
Maurice Cooper, Jr., whom she mar-
ried July 29, 1961, at St. Rose of
Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee;
four sons and two daughters-in-law,
Thomas and Cindy Cooper of Irving,
Texas, David Cooper of Kissimmee,
Fla., Keith and Lisa Cooper of Little
Rock, Ark., and Charles Cooper of
Kankakee; two daughters and sons-
in-law, Patricia and Jeffery Fergu-
son and Andrea and Gordon Weaver
all of Kankakee; six grandshildren;
four sisters, Mary Treece and Marjo-
rie Kindall both of Kankakee, Alice
Pritchard of Mary Esther, Fla., and
Anita Whittington, of Bourbonnais;
and one aunt Marguerite Rueckheim
of Kankakee.
One brother, Wayne Girard and
one sister, Bonita Kirchner are de-
ceased.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of St.
Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
For 18 years, Mrs. Cooper was a
housekeeper at the Holiday Inn.
