Wedowee - Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Bean Gabriel, 88, of Wedowee, will be at Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Bethel West Baptist Church with the Rev. David Holcombe and the Rev. Phillip Waits officiating. Mrs Gabriel will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2006 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Gabriel died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Wedowee Hospital.
Mrs. Gabriel is survived by two daughters; Deborah A. Gabriel of Wedowee, and Denita Beth Gabriel of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Thomas O. Gabriel, Jr. of Wedowee; one sister, Rubia Bean of Talladega; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gabriel was born March 23, 1918 the daughter of Wilson J. and Sarah E. Heard Bean. She was a member of the Bethel West Baptist Church and lunch room manager for Randolph County Schools.
Mrs. Gabriel was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gabriel, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Southern Ambulance Transport employees and members of Foster's Fire Department.
