PURCELL - Cecil Arthur Purcell of Box 172, Saginaw, Oregon passed away at a hospital in Eugene, Tuesday, September 15, 1970. Born September 1, 1905 in Arnett, Oklahoma and was married there to Willie Mae Guthrie, November 20, 1929. Came to Oregon in 1935 and to Saginaw in 1951. He was a member of Pennoyer Street Church of Christ. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Wallace of Reedsport; 3 daughters, Betty Lamkin of Los Mollinos, California; Beatrice Bost of Shokan, New York and Dorothy McClananhan of Bend, Oregon; 7 grandchildren, 5 sisters: Elsie Bridwell of Creswell; Mildred Eastburn of Dorena; Laura Smith of Salem, Lillie Jackson of Dumas, Texas; Neva Bridwell of Pampa, Texas. Funeral services will be held at the SMITH-LUND FUNERAL CHAPEL, Cottage Grove, Friday, September 18, 1970 at 1:30 p.m. with vault interment in Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Mr. Jerry Bassett officiating. The casket will remain closed after service. Visitation hours ‘til 9 p.m. Thursday.
