She was a member of Fourth St. United Methodist Church in Aurora for 67 years. She and her husband Ralph lived at Lincoln Memorial Park where he was the caretaker for 32 years.
Cecil is survived by a sister, Hazel Rodgers of Aurora; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Hilliard of North Aurora and Bea Dorian of Florida; a brother-in-law, Nick Schaak of Aurora; nieces, Virginia Blanton-Hinds of Aurora, Laurie Huss of Hinckley, IL., Dixie Lee (Virgil) Johnson of Oswego, Peggy Edwards of North Aurora, Marie Stammet of Batavia, IL., Joan Luck, Rogene Day and Linda Bell, all of North Aurora, IL; nephews, Rodney Capanash and Roger Leatherman, both of Aurora, Ronald Blanton of Florida, Dennis Rodgers of California and Floyd Larson of Lubbock, TX. She also had many friends and neighbors, including special friends, Lorraine Von Hoff of Aurora, IL., and Louis Ramirez of Aurora, and her caregiver, Rasa.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph in 1984; and three sisters, Naomi Larson, Gladys Leatherman and Ruth Capanash.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 11:30 AM from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. She will be laid to rest by Rev. Clara Thompson, who had been her comforter for many months. Visitation will be on Monday, March 18, 2002 from 4-8 PM at The Healy Chapel, Aurora. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
