Willie Belle “Sissy” Amos, 90, of Boaz, died Friday, December 11, 2020, at her home in Boaz.
She was born July 13, 1930, in Jefferson County, Alabama. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Boaz, Alabama.
Willie Belle Amos received her GED through Snead State Community College. She had a beloved career as a cosmetologist for over 63 years. She attended cake decorating classes and catered weddings for years. She decorated cakes for Food World of Albertville for years. She created many beautiful oil paintings which are displayed throughout her home as well as family members' homes. Arts and crafts were another passion which has been displayed as well.
She ministered to others in need through food and gifts prepared by her loving hands. She loved her Lord, taught Sunday school and Bible School, and held many positions for her Lord.
Survivors include son, Keith (Kathy) Amos of Boaz, daughter, Karren (Wendell) Garner of Boaz, grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Amos of Albertville, Ben (Amanda) Amos of Powder Springs, Georgia and Misti Garner Gallman of Boaz, great-grandchildren, Dawson and Cristen Amos of Albertville, Taegan and Judsly Gallman of Boaz, Abigail, Sawyer and Lilly Amos of Powder Springs, Georgia, sister, Esther Bigbee Gable of Boaz and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws as well as many beloved friends and neighbors, and special pet, Pixie Amos.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Edward E. Amos, parents, Roland Alvis Bigbee “Pa”, Minnie Lou Dorsett Bigbee “Ma”, grandparents, Hugh Thomas Bigbee, Lucy Bigbee “Little Grandma”, Charlie and Alice Dorsett, and siblings, Wayne Bigbee, Thomas Bigbee, Roland Bigbee, Herbert Bigbee, Flora Bigbee Steifel and Evelyn Bigbee Prock.
