Pearl Gardner, Creston

Pearl Jeneva Gardner, 89, of Creston died Mar. 19, 1993, at the Crest Haven Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. at the Keating-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Creston. Joyce Basler, lay pastor of St. John's Church of Christ, will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery.
There is open visitation after 9 a.m. today at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to St. John's United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Gardner was born Nov. 16, 1903, in Villisca, to Charles A. and Selma G. (Peterson) Wert. She married Samuel L. Gardner Jan. 26, 1922, at Clarinda. She was a homemaker and a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie M. (husband Bill) Johnson of Creston and Helen C. Boelling of Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on Sept. 28, 1979, an infant sister, and sister, Tillie Irwin.

Burial was in Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, IA. She died on Mar. 19, 1993, at the Crest Haven Care Center in Creston. Memorial are suggested to the St. John's Church of Christ, Creston.
Honorary pallbearers were Cathy Holliday and Melinda Martin. Pallbearers were Thomas Boelling, Bob Boelling, James Boelling, Larry Johnson, Mike Johnson and Russ Burgman. Jean Schmoll was organist.
Pearl was born Nov. 16, 1903, in Villisca, to Charles A. and Selma C. Peterson Wert. She married Samuel L. Gardner on Jan. 26, 1922, in Clarinda, IA. Pearl was a long-time resident of Villisca until moving to Creston in 1985. She was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church.
