Gertrude S. McKnight, 87, Nampa died Saturday at a Nampa hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1890 at Lewiston, Utah, where she was reared and attended schools. She attended Brigham Young Academy in Logan, Utah in 1909. She married Joseph McKnight at the Logan LDS Temple Dec. 21, 1910. They lived in Lewiston, Utah until coming to Nampa in 1944, where they farmed east of town. They retired from farming in 1959, and moved into town. He died April 22, 1969. She had resided in the Nampa area since. She attended the Nampa Sixth Ward LDS Church. She was very active in LDS church auxiliaries and had been a counselor in the Nampa Stake Relief Society. She was member of the Meridian Fifth Ward LDS Church.

She is survived by four sons, Joseph L., Caldwell, Paul S., Cornish, Utah, Scott S., Nampa, and Bruce McKnight, Las Vegas, Nev; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Karren, Tampa Mission, Fla., Mrs. Chester (Mary) Zollinger, Providence, Utah, Mrs. Tom (Roma) Hemsley, Pocatello, and Mrs. Vaughn (Pat) Barson, Nampa; a brother, Thomas Spackman, Tremonton, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Ethyl Ransom, Lewiston, Utah; 41 grandchildren and 77 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Henry, in 1972, three sisters, six brothers, three grandsons, and a great grandson.
