After attending school in Idaville IN for 10 years Dean moved to Kokomo graduating from Kokomo HS in 1947. He served in the Indiana National Guard from June 1948 thru June 1951 and served in Korea with US Army from January 1952 thru January1953.
Dean was employed by Dirilyte of Kokomo for 3 years & 30 years at Delco Electronics from which he retired from plant security in 1990. In 1996 He and Patricia moved to Fairfield Glade, TN.
He was a member of the Howard Masonic Lodge (50 year member), Indpls Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Center Chapter OES, Amanda Chapter OES in Crossville, TN, Cumberland Co. Shrine Club in Crossville, TN, Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. Dean enjoyed golf & wood working.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Abersoll and one daughter, Yolanda (Abersoll) Raia of Indpls, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, John Raia, Jr.
Funeral services January 31, 2009 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 West Lincoln Road, with Pastor Ed Vasicek officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S.Army and the Kokomo V.F.W. Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to call from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:15 p.m. followed by a Masonic service.
