Marvin O. Leonhardt
Marvin O. Leonhardt, 84, of 188 Marys Ave., Fond du Lac, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at ManorCare Nursing Home.
He was born a son of the late Christian and Elsie Ballwanz Leonhardt on March 14, 1920, in Fond du Lac.
On Sept. 2, 1944, he married Frances S. Simmons in Wilmington, Delaware.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942-1946 in the Pacific Theater. Marv worked for Mercury Marine from 1946 until his retirement in 1982.
Marvin was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church, singing in the choir for many years and was active on various committees within the church. He enjoyed golfing and was an active bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Barbara Cotter of Little Rock, Ark.; grandson, Anthony Cotter of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister, Caroline Leonhardt; two brothers, Arlin (Agnes) Leonhardt of Fond du Lac and Lyle "Luke" (Jean) Leonhardt of Fond du Lac; nephew and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Jones.
• Services: The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Luther Memorial Church with Pastor David Naumann officiating. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
• Visitation: The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at Mach Funeral Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Monday, at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Luther Memorial Student Aid Fund or Aurora Hospice.
Mach Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
