ENID, OK — Funeral service for Clara Mae Darnell, 78, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Terry Darnell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. today. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Clara was born May 21, 1932, in Lula, Okla., to Luther Ernest and Ruby Irene (Angel) Dugan and died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She married J.E. Darnell May 29, 1950, in Borger, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1998.
She worked in the cafeteria at Pleasant-Vale, Drummond and Waukomis public schools. She was a faithful member of 14th and Maine Church of Christ and TOPS Club. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, genealogy, playing games with her grandchildren and was a generous caretaker for members of her family.
Survivors include her children, Brenda Hoffsommer and husband Steve of Hillsdale, Okla., Gary Darnell and wife Chris of Wichita, Kan., Terry Darnell and wife Denise of Harrison, Ark., and Cindy Brown and husband Kenneth of Garland, Texas; sister, Elva Cheatwood and husband Floyd of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Jerry Dugan and wife Sonia of Russellville, Ark., sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dugan of Nixa, Mo., and Maxine Dugan of Enid, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
