F. Virginia Schertz, 79, of Remington died Saturday June 13 at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home, Fowler, Ind.
She was born Sept. 12, 1924 in Anchor, Ill.
She was a 1942 graduate of Anchor High School and graduated from Beauty School in Bloomington, Ill.
She married Dale E. Schertz June 3, 1945, he survives.
She belonged to the Wommen's organization of the Church and taught Sunday School for 40 years.
She and her husband farmed North West of Remington for 35 years and retired in 1980.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Sandra (Dale) Kaufmann of Goshen, Ind., Karen (Terry) Lambert of Remington, and Cheryl (Alan) Coy of Milford, Ind., nine grandchildren; one brother, Hugh Cooper of Rochelle, Ill.
She is preceded in death by her brother.
Visitation was held Monday, June 15 at Stitz Funeral Home, Remington.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 16, at Remington Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Kleymann officiating.
Burial followed in the Remington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Association or Meadow Mennonite Home Alzheimer Unite.
