He was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Texas Dental Society, the American Legion, the Elks Lodge, and the Masonic Lodge. He moved to Breckenridge in 1919.

Survivors: daughter - Mrs. Kenneth W. Moore of California; brother - Sam Boles of Jacksonville; two grandchildren.

His funeral was held in the First Methodist Church of Breckenridge with Rev. Kenneth Reed, pastor, officiating.
