Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 29, 2010 at the Harper United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Swender officiating.

Memorials may be given to Wheatlands Health Care Center, TLC in care of the funeral home.

Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper is in charge of the arrangements.

Joy Lavern Clements, daughter of Ben and Mary E. (Hooper) Wohlschlegel, was born February 14, 1924 in Harper, Kansas. She passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Wheatlands Health Care Center in Kingman, KS at the age of 86.

On December 8, 1956, Joy was united in marriage with Elden Clements in Enid, OK. Their family was complete when Scott and Terri were born, joining Jane and Judy. They made their home in Harper at 312 West 16th, where Joy enjoyed raising her family.

Some of her passions were reading nonfiction, especially WWII, china painting and sharing coffee with friends and family, both around her kitchen table and at "afternoon coffee".

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Harper Art Association, Harper Hospital Board, 36 Club when it was active, and attended the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden on March 17, 1992; and two sisters, Mary Jane Wohlschlegel and Edith Reida.

Joy will be deeply missed by her children, Jane Bailey and her husband, Dennis, of Wichita, KS, Judy Mason and her husband, Greg, of Flagstaff, AZ, Terri Reynolds of Lake Dallas, TX, Scott Clements of Kingman, KS; three brothers: Dub Wohlschlegel of St. Louis, MO, Bob and Joan Wohlschlegel, and Dale and Jody Wohlschlegel, both of Harper, KS; three sisters: Irene and Elmer Naasz of Wellington, KS, Alice and Dean Branine of Holabird, South Dakota, and Nancy and Duck Mortimer of Harper; three grandchildren: Dusty Reynolds of Santa Rosa, CA, Carlton Reynolds of Lewisville, TX, and Connor Mason of Flagstaff, AZ; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
