Her 15 year old daughter (Janet) died two months before the death of a twin daughter (Janet Chalmers) and a year and a half later, Janet C. Hunter died in childbirth, along with her child, an unnamed daughter.
Five years later, her husband married the widow of his younger brother, John, who had been killed in a coal mine disaster in Wyoming the same year Janet died.
