MOTHER OF MRS BAKER
DIED LAST THURSDAY
Mrs. R.C. Boggess, of Ft Worth, Texas, who was visiting in the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Baker, passed away Thursday, October 19 at the Baker home.. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church by Rev. J.A. Haley, Saturday. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery here.
Mrs. Boggess, with her husband came to visit in the Baker home several weeks ago, and had been here only about one week when Mrs. Boggress became ill. However, she seemed to be greatly improved but Thursday morning she suffered a relapse, and in a few hours the end came.
Mrs. Boggess was well known in Minco, having lived here four years before moving to Fort Worth. Since that time she has visited in Minco at regular intervals each year. She is survived by her husband and four children, two sons, Will and Bert Boggess of Fort Worth, Texas and two daughters, Mrs. George Baker of Minco and Mrs. Drew Weisner, of Refugio, Texas; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
"Baugus, Boggus & Boggess Footprints on the sands of Time" (often referred to as "The Boggess Book" says that Emma M. Shannon was born 22 Aug 1856, not 1865. Their marriage was on 19 Feb 1874 in Kaufman Co., TX, and Emma would have been 9 years old at the time of her marriage if she had been born in 1865. Also, in the 1880 Census of Kaufman Co., TX, Emma's age is given as 23.
