Caroline "Carrie" Taylor Walter was the daughter of John Joseph Taylor (1844-1896) and Mary Jane Keyworth (1852-1923) both of whom emigrated from England. Carrie's husband was Oliver Walter (1859-1906), and she was the mother of Olivena (1898-1963), Violet (1899-1976), Ruby (1901- ), Melburn (1903-1976) and Pearl (1905-1906). Sadly she died before she had a chance to see her children grow up. Carrie, Oliver and baby Pearl died within 2 months of one another. Pearl died of cholera on March 9. Carrie died of typhoid on March 31. Oliver died of typhoid on April 21. Their daughters went to live with William and Mollie Walter, their aunt and uncle. Melvin was adopted by Edward and Lucy Walter, his aunt and uncle.
