George immigrated to the USA from Alsace, France on 13 Nov 1854 in to the port of New Orleans aboard the ship Moses Taylor with his parents. He married Margaret Pittner and had 6 children: George Jacob, Margaret aka Maggie, Joseph A, Edward, Elizabeth aka Lizzie and Albert. His occupation was that of a cabinet maker.
